Homosexuality and the Power of Desensitization Part 1

Greetings Everyone!
We are only a few days from the first day of fall! The weather here in Dallas is nice for this time of year. We have had some rain and cool days that provided nice evening walks. This has been great! Our message for fellowship this week is a very controversial one. We are going to look at a topic which is both feared and misunderstood by far too many in the Church (the Body of Christ), religion, and most in the world. Deep fear and anger surround the word “Homosexuality”. If you listen to either side speaking on this issue you’ll soon see fear, anger and confusion. This confusion concerning homosexuality will always lead to delusional thinking on either side. This level of thinking is a by-product of the power of desensitization to the person of Christ. Many believe and are told that homosexuality is a lifestyle, someone is born this way or it’s an outcome of an experience. It is also thought and accepted that once someone embraces who they are as “gay” or “homosexual,” they’ll become comfortable with themselves and their “true” self. Also, one of the most powerful beliefs is: once you embrace who you really are, you can never go back or escape from this lifestyle.
Although we are going to discuss homosexuality in this message, I will be including the terms transgender, same sex marriage, and sex-change surgery. I know these words don’t all mean the same thing technically, but each of them are rooted and grounded in the same place. They also come from the same mind with the same effect on each person who operates under its influence. Lastly, my intent in today’s message is to confirm what the apostle Paul said in Ephesians chapter 3.
And to make all [men] see what [is] the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: Eph 3:9
This does not mean to make all men believe what is being said. That’s not my job here. But it is my job or responsibility to share the revelation of the mystery as clearly as I have received it from my Father. Now please listen very carefully. It doesn’t matter what you believe about this issue of homosexuality; most are too desensitized to see through to Christ! Desensitization to the person of Christ keeps fear and anger paralyzing everyone on either side of this issue. Yes, I said everyone – those who believe it is wrong and those who believe there’s nothing wrong with this lifestyle or practice. This message is for both those who consider themselves gay or straight; homosexual or heterosexual. The message is also for those who consider themselves Christian but are not actually born again, and for those who are born again believers – regardless of their maturity. There is something bigger than homosexual or heterosexual relations and relationships going on. Let’s talk about it!
Love in Christ,
David & Katherine
