This Sunday morning, I will continue the tag-team teaching of Colossians chapter three. I want to propose a question that most of you have never given much thought to. Does God give second chances? We live in a world of second chances: or as Merriam-Webster defines it – the opportunity to try something again after failing the first time. Articles and books are written about them. Churches and ministries are named after them, but does God really give second chances? Join me this Sunday morning as we answer that question and explore the depths of Colossians chapter three.
We will continue to learn the Father’s process of Spiritual Identity and Sonship in Colossians Chapter 3 again this week. Each week the Holy Spirit continues to renew our minds, learning to live our new Spiritual Identity and spontaneously walk in Christ as Spiritually Birthed Sons of the Father. Today we read Paul’s epistles with a new Spiritual vigor of knowledge and understanding! Last week in Colossians chapter-3 our dear brother Dwight Davis shared a powerful message on what the Father is revealing concerning this chapter, and our Spiritual Identity of Sonship in Christ! This week will be no different with our Father revealing who we are as Spiritual Sons to Him as our Father. Let’s talk about…
Paul starts off Colossians Chapter 3 talking of an area where we are in spiritual union with Christ after His resurrection that gave us imputed righteousness by the Father. That gave us the authority or right to be Spirit birthed when we believe in our heart (Romans 10:10) and receive His eternal life. That also provided us with the Father’s absolute righteousness and his new nature to now live only in our new Spiritual Son identity.
We are commanded to Let this Word of Christ dwell in us “Richly.” The word “Richly” means “abundantly or extravagantly.” In other words, God the Father’s Word should permeate our live. Every aspect of the Spiritual Son’s life — every thought, every word, and every deed — should be governed by the Word of God the Father.
Let us discuss some of these important things concerning Living in our new Spiritual Son identity and various facets of it that our Father has revealed.
The churches in Colossae and the Lycus Valley apparently were established around 55 AD. However, by 60 AD, the church was in trouble and heresies combining Paul’s gospel with other world religions had established a foothold. The purity of the gospel was being subtly undermined by the religious philosophies of the day. The foundation of their true spiritual identity was being eroded by their compromise and acceptance of tradition, philosophies, and basic principles of the world. How does this work in the church today? We will discuss this in Sunday morning fellowship.
We will continue this week to learn the Father’s process of Spiritual Identity and Sonship in Colossians Chapter 2. Each week the ongoing revelation of Holy Spirit is to renew our minds to learn to live in our new Spiritual Identity and spontaneously walk in who we are in Christ as Spiritually Birthed Sons of the Father. We now read Paul’s epistles with a new vigor of Spiritual knowledge and understanding. Well, at least we should! In the last two weeks in Colossians chapter-2 , our dear brother and sister, Dwight Davis and Brenda Gray shared two powerful messages on what Father is revealing in them concerning this chapter, and our Spiritual Identity in Christ! I know this week will be no different with our Father revealing who we are to Him as Spiritual Sons and who He is as our Spiritual Father. So, let’s talk about it…
In today’s society it is often said “All paths lead to God”. Many people believe in God in one form or another. They say “It doesn’t matter what you believe in, as long as you believe in something.” They say, “There is one God so, whatever you believe in, He loves you.” But is this true?
All the world religions claim to have the answer to life’s big question. “Who am I? (Identity) and why am I here” (purpose). They promise a life with a sense of purpose, and eternal glory and salvation in the afterlife.
To varying degrees, they require followers to commit to a set of values, fundamental principles, and rules of conduct. But do these religions bring one closer to God or give them Absolute Identity? And if so, whose Identity are they given, and do they all lead to the same God?
As real as these religions appear, there is no Eternal Life nor Spiritual Identity of God as Father in them!
Matt 24:24 (amp)
For false Christ and false prophets will appear and they will provide great signs and wonders that would deceive, if possible, even the elect (God’s chosen ones)
Jesus prays in John 17:20 & 21
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their words;
That they may be one, as You, Father are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us…
So, how must we, the Spiritual Birthed Sons, address this?
The Father has spoken to me over the last several weeks about the MYSTERY of new Spiritual Identity that He has REVEALED by various ways of His MYSTERY to each of us over time.
Paul opens up Chapter 2 of Colossians with an open discussion of the realization of the full knowledge of THE MYSTERY of the Father and of Christ.
Paul also declares the EQUALITY of the Trinity and our EQUALITY as a part of the Trinity as Spiritual birthed Sons of the Father!
Let us discuss some of these important things concerning the Mystery and various facets of it that our Father has revealed.
Spiritual identity is more relevant today than ever before in history. I say to you, that many prophets and righteous men desired to see what you see today, and did not see it; and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it. But given the truth, many do not want to surrender who they are in their flesh. They do not want to relinquish their self-actualization or self-identities. John writes that whoever hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness. He does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. What is darkness, who is this darkness?
As we continue learning the Father’s process of Spiritual Identity and Sonship, we live and spontaneously walk in who we are to Him as the Spiritually Birthed Son. We read Paul’s epistles with a new vigor of Spiritual knowledge and understanding. In the last two weeks, our dear brother and sister, Dwight Davis and Brenda Gray shared with powerful messages what Father is revealing in them concerning Colossians chapter 1 and our Spiritual Identity in Christ! This week will be no different, with our Father revealing who we are to Him as Spiritual Birthed Sons and who He is to us as our Spiritual Father. Let’s continue to talk about it….
