Me and Jesus Part 2

This week we will conclude the two-part teaching titled Me and Jesus. Born again believers are in an identity crisis and they are becoming helplessly disillusioned. As a result, they are leaving the church in record numbers; for the churches have merely shifted the guilt from what they were doing as sinners – to what they are not doing as believers. Nothing in their lives has changed. They have only changed who and what they are conforming to. They traded a life of conforming to the world for a life of trying to conform to Jesus. Every day they awake in the do-loop of trying and failing. If the ‘Me and Jesus’ understanding were a tree, conformity and change would be its fruit. The born-again are weary and stressed. But Jesus said in Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest”. We are going to drive a stake through the heart of those lifeless delusions and set free the captives.

This week we will be teaching on the spiritual cognitive dissonance of “Me and Jesus” and the mystery of Sonship and new spiritual identity In Christ as the spiritual Son of God!
Cognitive Dissonance is the mental conflict that occurs when our beliefs, concepts or assumptions are contradicted by new information. We have a strong inner need to ensure that our beliefs, our identities and our behaviors are consistent. When what you believe is challenged, something must change in order to eliminate or reduce the dissonance caused by the lack of agreement. Today’s Christians are faced with spiritual cognitive dissonance when their strongly held religious concepts are challenged by the revelation of spiritual union, oneness and identity. It would be better if we were either hot or cold concerning this revelation – that we would receive it with hunger or reject it with vehemence. But we do neither. We choose to live in a lukewarm state that compromises the spiritual identity of the son and the identities of our flesh. We convince ourselves that no conflict really exists. In our secular wisdom, we bring Christ down to the flesh and create a coexisting relationship between ourselves and Christ. As a result, almost every Christian sees their spiritual identity from the perspective of ‘me’ and ‘Jesus’. 

“This two-person gospel (me and Jesus) creates a comfortable space where we can live out our relationship with God as His adopted child. Conforming and changing ourselves into the image of Jesus. Doing all of this through our faith in Christ.”

If you can find no problem with what I just said – then my friend you are deeply entrenched in the delusion of religion and the two-person gospel. I want to spend the next two weeks discussing eight of the most common erroneous ‘concepts’ that come out of our spiritual cognitive dissonance. I only ask that you listen and approach this teaching with an open heart. These erroneous spiritual ‘concepts’ keep us in religious bondage and distract us from learning and understanding who we truly are as the sons of God. Let’s talk about it…

What ties you-holds you

This week in fellowship we’ll talk about “the cord that ties us also binds us” .  There are only a few examples we can use to explain our spiritual foundation, identity and contrast with the flesh.  Given the fact the all examples breakdown at some point, God the Father has provided us with a few instances which take us into places of spiritual explanation that communicate a God idea.  It just doesn’t breakdown as easily as others.  With that said we are going look at the umbilical cord of a baby and it’s power over life and identity. This subject has a great wealth of information and knowledge associated with it.  So we’ll only be able to hit just the highlights to take us into what we need to see in spiritual birth and the ongoing mystery of Sonship. What is Man’s Deepest Need? Part 2

Last week in Sunday fellowship we look at and answered to the question “What is Man’s Deepest Need?” We found that it is “spiritual identity” and it is a need placed within every human being from the day we are born. We also discussed the difference between our “deepest need” and our “greatest need”. Our greatest need is subjective and situational. This need can and does change over time. The greatest need of a fifteen year old can be drastically different than a thirty-three or forty year old. Yet, the deepest need is the same each of them. It is fixed and absolute!

This week we will finish with a look at man-made religion’s inability to acknowledge our deepest need. Remember, man-made religion has no answer for “man’s deepest need” because the question is outside of its theology, ideology, doctrine and belief. And of course, man’s deepest need is spiritual. Because in man-made religion spiritual identity has to do with works of the flesh, they must find a provision for your flesh. Enter Paul’s use of the word “adoption”. What is Man’s Deepest Need?

This week we will take a look at “What is Man’s Deepest Need”.

In my recent mission to Ghana I shared a two-bedroom living with my good brother and friend, Pastor David Griffin.  One night we were having a great discussion and as we were concluding David turned to me and said, “David, do you know what is man’s deepest need?”  At that moment I had a lot of thoughts going through my mind but none seemed satisfactory to give him an answer. So, I replied “no, what?”  His answer that came forth was piercing and complete.  It tied everything together I knew and was learning in Christ as the Son of Son my Father! The Father lead me deeper into Himself to see something which was there but yet not understood.  I had been teaching on this and talking about this word for many years.  But that night it was new dept of spiritual insight.  It’s what we call “fresh bread” right from the oven!  David’s answer echoed in the mind of my Spirit for the rest of that night.  And the rest of the trip.  So, let’s talk about it…

This week in fellowship we will hear from brother Jimmy (Jim) Moore on “Just a glimpse”.  He says this about the message he’ll be sharing.

There are times the Father is only speaking to me and I want to share the revelation and it is not His time for others , I’m not saying you can’t sew seed, but I am saying listen to the Father when it’s time to plant . Getting a glimpse and thinking it is the whole is where we get into the flesh. I just know this is the process of Sonship. Jimmy Moore

The Story of the Seed! Part 2

The gospel is the death, resurrection and spiritual seed of Jesus Christ. It is through that spiritual and eternal seed that we become the Sons of God, and yet Paul tells us that gospel was preached to Abraham 2100 years before the birth of Christ. That is the same mystery taught by Paul to the Gentiles. This week we will finish the two-week study of Genesis 22. We will see God’s purpose, intent, and plan (PIP) which He purposed in Himself for us as the Sons He would birth us to be spiritually! If all that we see in Genesis 22 is the crucifixion of Christ, then we have missed the purpose of it all. Genesis 22 ends with the promise of the seed; and within that seed, the promise of spiritual Sons.

Galatians 3:8 The Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “ALL THE NATIONS WILL BE BLESSED IN YOU.”

We trust your week has been with the process of Sonship working in each you daily! This will lead to seeing from the inside out to the Father. This will produce in us the ability to live Father driven and not outcome driven! Our message this week with seeing things from our Father’s POR (Point of Reference). Coming to know His purpose, intent, and plan (PIP) which He purposed in Himself for us as the Sons He would birth us to be spiritually!

That is the same mystery taught by Paul to the Gentiles. Many Christians today believe that the birth of Christ was a concept of God designed in 4BC to redirect and save a sinful creation. Others have taught that the gospel was never revealed to anyone before the resurrection; and yet, Paul clearly tells us that it was preached to Abraham. You cannot help but ask how? when? and where? did this all this take place. We will spend the next two weeks studying John chapter 8 and Genesis chapter 22 – there we shall see the marvelous purpose and detail of God the Father and His PIP of the Seed! So, let’s talk about it…

Unalienable Rights of Sonship

We are going to look at the “Unalienable Rights of Sonship”.  What is “Unalienable”?  One of the things God ordained is the liberty, freedom or right of decisions. This is the “license” to make whatever decision you and I want.  Sadly, because of the sin in man-made religion this unalienable right and gift is denied and flat out disbelieved!  The gifts or rights provided by God will be reviewed along with a few other words.  All dealing with our Sonship!  But first we’ll take a look at the Declaration of Independence. Maybe there’s a Declaration of Independence is Sonship. So, let’s talk about it!

The message today deals with subject I’ve been discussing for about two or three years.  The topic is the word “concept” and what the use of the word conveys or it’s inability to convey spiritual knowledge and understanding. It substitutes the absolute power of the spiritual for human intellect, academics, and reason.  In many cases it confirms the two person gospel.

There is a ongoing move in man-made religion to hinder or dumb down Sonship to meet its doctrines and beliefs.  There are several doctrinal  beliefs which are handed down from generation to generation which many have clung to as spiritual truth but was just a concept.   The illusion is that many advocate that “we now have the bible so there is nothing concerning Jesus and man’s salvation is hidden from us!”  We have God’s final revelation printed in scripture and we need nothing else”.  We have all of God’s concepts given to man! Why do we need any other revelation?  We don’t!  We have it all now written for everyone to read!

The fear of not being in control of what’s written in the Bible, and the lack of understanding that everything in the Bible is spiritually inspired, spiritually understood and spiritually revealed.  Means that the salvation of man is not left up to the spiritual purpose, intent and plan of God but salvation comes by human reasoning and interpretation.   Man-made religion have very few who address or acknowledge that anything took place before the foundation of the world or before creation and that makes everything spiritual! The result? Man-Made religion has to compensate it’s doctrines by building and explaining them in concepts!  The conceptualization of the gospel makes everything fit.  This makes no room for the exchange from flesh identity to spiritual identity as the Son to the Father!  Ultimately denying the deep absolute power of the spiritual “Seed” while spiritual birth goes unrealized under religious concepts.
