“Yet Not I” Then and Now

Greetings and Merry Christmas!

Lord willing next week this time will be Christmas Eve! WOW! 2016 is at the door saying good-by. The weather here in Dallas is COLD and WINDY! I was just checking the weather at my old stomping ground, Minot, North Dakota. The temp tonight is headed for 22 below 0. And that’s not with the wind chill factor….Those were the days. “Why not Minot, freezing the reason.” OK, on to warmer things.

The message tomorrow will continue with Paul’s revelation of Galatians 2:20. The first week we look at “I am crucified with Christ” – how Paul came to see he died with Christ on the cross. The power of this revelation is hard to wrap your mind around. You cannot come to this knowledge and understanding without the Holy Spirit revealing you died at the cross. Last week we looked at his next statement in this verse “nevertheless less I live”. Paul saw his death, yet knew he lived after the cross. We also looked at the personal pronouns in this verse and how they fit into his revelation. This verse is loaded with these personal pronouns: I , me, and my. The first personal pronoun (I, me, my – your name) is (a) in union with death, (b) identified with as dead, (c) died at the time of the cross, (d) can live after the cross. Before the revelation, Paul knew he still physically lived – walked and talked as the person he knew himself to be in the flesh. But when the revelation of Christ came, his whole world of “I, me, my” was turned upside down. He could clearly see an “I” that died and now there was an “I” that lived.

This week we will follow his very next words of “yet not I”. It appears Paul is somewhat confused. What does he mean by “yet not I”? Do not just jump to the next line, because he didn’t. There’s a very important pause – a revelation of an identity exchange. Many of us want to rush to what appears to be the punch line: “but Christ liveth in me.” I encourage you beloved, don’t jump ahead! Paul is speaking about something that no one ever knew in the history of humankind, sharing something he received from Christ, Himself. This revelation turned his world upside down. There is union and identity here which must be revealed. So, again let’s slow down and allow our teacher, God the Holy Spirit, access to renew our minds to the depth and power of each line and word Paul is speaking to us, and to every born again believer! Are you ready? Let’s talk about it….

Love in Christ,.

Greetings Beloved!
Well it is cold here in the Dallas area!  Another week has passed, and we are one week closer to Christmas. Time is moving on and we are moving right along with it.  The traffic here today was more congested  than usual. Shopping, shopping and more shopping seems to be the thing on everyone’s minds. I sense it’s only going to get worse (traffic that is).  We trust you enjoyed the massage last Sunday from our dear brother, Kurtis.  It is truly a message for those who are learning, or want to learn to be a new creation see-thru-er!   As Sons of God, our heavenly Father, there is only one life we are birthed to live:  the life of the Son! The Christ life is our only life!  This life-His life is life.  The Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made us free…The life which God provides for humankind comes from death!  This is why Gal 2:20 is such an incredibly powerful verse.  It reveals the strongest principle or attribute in God-life for us comes out of death!  This beloved is a God idea!  It has to be because it was established before creation. Before the foundation of the world-before the world began!  Life for all of humankind whether biological or Spiritual always comes out of death!  We will continue looking at Gal 2:20.  In our last time together we looked at Paul’s revelation of “I am crucified with Christ.”  His words were unheard of in his day.  No one saw themselves crucified on the cross with Christ.  They all saw Christ’s death as a sacrifice for sins, an atonement, and forgiveness.  They all saw and thought that Christ died for them and they had no “skin in the game.”  But glory to God and His revelation of the cross of Christ to the apostle Paul- “I am crucified with Christ.”  But Paul’s next three words “Nevertheless I live” are just as powerful as his first five.  Kurtis mentioned in last week’s fellowship “every time the word death is used, it is followed by the words, life or love.”  So, let’s talk about it!

“I am crucified with Christ” Then and Now

2016 Nov 27th Streaming

https://youtu.be/UfiiId2Sr1I

We trust you all had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving! We enjoyed our time with our children and a few friends. I ate way too much food! So, I went out to the backyard and did few “farmer’s walks” with an of 85 lbs dumbbell in each hand. That kick in my metabolism and I was ready to watch the Cowboys game. Katherine went for a 2 mile walk with some of the kids. All and all it was a blessed day for us all! Let’s take a quick look at the highlights of the message in fellowship tomorrow. We’re going to look at Paul’s statement in the beginning of Gal 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ…” Many of us use the verse and statement as though we know, understand and grasp what this means. Sadly far too many don’t know the power this line carries to our identity. I was recently reading from the new book by our brother Dr. Warren Litzman titled; The Joy of knowing who I Am -The Fundamentals of the Christ-life. He was discussing Galatians 2:20 where the apostle Paul says:

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Brother Litzman writes:

“This ought to be the golden text of the bible because in this one verse of scripture we are able to see the whole entity of the now generation. “I am crucified with Christ.” That is something you may not know or it may be something you always say but don’t know anything about. I am certain there are multitudes of believers who run around talking about being crucified with Christ but don’t have the slightest concept of what it is, and they feel like being crucified with Christ is kind of overcoming some little problem they have. They don’t see themselves totally crucified with Christ and totally alive in Christ. They see a little crucifixion for this habit, a little crucifixion of that bad relationship, a little crucifixion for something they shouldn’t have done; but they do not see that they are crucified with Christ.”

His explaining on how many use the words “I am crucified with Christ” hit the nail on the head. Most believers and religious people use those words from an outer or flesh prospective. With little regard or understanding of the true power of this line in the verse. But why? Why don’t so many truly grasp the power of this precious line? Let’s talk about it!

Living in the “NOW” Life

Happy Thanksgiving! I know it’s a few days early but I’m taking the opportunity. Do you remember when “Black Friday” sales started the day after Thanksgiving? Well now it starts the first week of November! Maybe soon they’ll start the “Pre-Black Friday” sales after Labor Day. The weather here in the Dallas area is getting cooler. It does feel pretty good. The message tomorrow is learning and living the “Now” life. What is the “Now” life? Is living the “Now” life the same as living in the “Moment?” I was reading a new book by our brother Dr. Warren Litzman titled “The Joy of Knowing Who I AM” The Fundamentals of the Christ-Life. This is book 1 of a series. As Katherine and I was read reading the book Brother Warren touched on the subject of the “Now” life. Katherine reminded me that I had not used the term “Now” life before. She said “you’ve talked about living in the “Now” but not the “Now” life.” As I thought about this it came to me that living in the “now” is knowing what the “Now ” life is. It is rooted and grounded in who we are in Christ. When we’re born again we are birthed into the “Now” life. Our knowledge and understanding of this life has been desensitized by the process of sensitization to our flesh. The Spirit of fear with his illusion of living in the moment has deceived multitudes and led them into captivity and delusional thinking. Almost everyone is captivated with the idea of trying to live in the “Moment.” That is really a very practice. It truly has an appearance liberty, freedom and rest. And the way things are moving so rapidly in the world today you need slow down smell the roses! This would appear as the best thing for us.

” Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.” Col 2:23. Let’s talk about it!

The Placebo Effect, Desensitization and renewing of the mind

2016 Nov 13th Streaming

https://youtu.be/Sni5yXQruf8

Greetings Everyone,

Let me begin with a prayer request: We just received news tonight that one of our dear and beloved brothers in Ghana just lost his wife. They have only been married a little less than a year and now have a two month old baby. He is now a single father. Please pray for him and his family in this hour. Our Father is not missing in the mist of this current situation. I’m trusting that those around our brother will speak life and live as the new creation see-thru-ers they are birthed to be! The body of Christ which gathers there in northern Ghana will be strengthened by every Word we speak/pray in love for them and to them! There is nothing out of control. It only appears that way when we buy into the spirit of fear and his illusions. They are as we, are more than conquerors through Him that loves us! As we go to the Father concerning this situation please keep this in mind as we pray, our union in Christ and with our Father’s love makes all things possible! Thank you beloved!

[We are] troubled on every side, yet not distressed; [we are] perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh. 2Co 4:8-11

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 8:37-39
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward [man] is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding [and] eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen [are] temporal; but the things which are not seen [are] eternal. 2Co 4:16-18

We will be looking at “The Placebo Effect” and it’s impact in world around us, how desensitization to the person of Christ makes its effect real to so many. And why the power of renewing of your mind is the “only” answer which keeps us out or releases us from prison! Without the renewing of the mind we are not and cannot be conformed into the image of the Son, but we are conformed to this world! Both sides of the placebo effect are powerful. Let’s talk about it!

Behold the Man and his tripartite make up Part 3

2016 Nov 6th Streaming

https://youtu.be/9iAbt0p68pw

Greetings Everyone,

We trust you all had a blessed week! We were kind of busy this week. Well, we have elections this coming week. I have been told that our brothers and sister in Ghana will have elections as well this week. I am amazed at how so many people (including professing believers) are moved by the Spirit of fear through politics. His illusions, deceptions, captivity and delusional thoughts have made the power of God in Christ Jesus of no effect. The Spirit of fear has provided insights (illusions) into what going to happen no matter who is elected. Far too may have been bought and paid for by fear’s holy and righteous insights (illusions) of what tomorrow holds if they win (But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person:) for they who seemed [to be somewhat] in conference added nothing to me: Gal 2:6). We know as new creation Sons of God that an illusion no matter how persuasive is still an illusion. Therefore we don’t by into fear’s illusion. We are not deceived concerning our future. We are not taken captive and under the control of another. We don’t just have the appearance liberty which the Spirit of fear says we will lose if the wrong person or party is elected into power. We know we stand fast in the “Liberty” wherewith Christ has made us free and we will not be in tangled in that yoke of bondage which fear’s insight provides. This revelation and knowledge guards our hearts and minds and we live and walk in the person of Christ and are kept from his delusional thinking. “Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours; Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours; And ye are Christ’s; and Christ [is] God’s. 1Co 3:21-23.” We also know “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? … Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor political party, nor elected politician, nor things to come (based on fear’s insight into the future), Rom 8:35, 37-38.” I pray we all go the our Father and ask Him what He want. Listen and obey His voice. Then go and be about your Father’s busy! Vote according to His will because He knows what He’s doing. Our obedience will cause us to cast a winning vote, no matter who wins the election! But what about the candidates and their stand on the issues? What about the party platform? What about the things we’ve heard during the debates? What about our principles? What about voting our conscience? What about the things I see going on around us? The answer is simple. In whom do you trust? In whom do you place your faith? Not your vote! But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1Co 2:9.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Jhn 16:33

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 1Jo 5:4-5

We trust we all cast a winning vote. Because this is who we are as the new creation tripartite man! Let’s talk about this new creation tripartite man in fellowship.

Behold the Man and his tripartite make up Part 2

2016 Oct 30th Streaming

https://youtu.be/YgsIGDWgoaU

Greetings Everyone!

We trust you’ve had a blessed and wonderful week. We are at the end of October and Thanksgiving is just around the corner! We will be continuing this week with Part-2 of the tripartite makeup of man. The way God created man was critically unique in His purpose, intent and plan for the destiny of man. In His creation God gave man an ability which no other creature processed. Who and what humankind is to ultimately become rest in our unique creation. Our New Testament view of man is rooted and grounded in the knowledge and understanding given to the Apostle Paul. Paul uses roughly 18 terms to describe or behold man. These terms are not written in any other parts of the Bible as they are in his epistles. These terms are;

  • Old Man
  • New Man
  • Spiritual Man
  • Natural Man
  • Carnal Man
  • One Man
  • Dead Man
  • Outer Man
  • Inner Man
  • Tripartite Man
  • First Man
  • Second Man
  • Perfect Man
  • Corruptible Man
  • Righteous Man
  • Good Man
  • Inward Man
  • Wretched Man

Within the list of terms Paul clearly reveals our unique composition of man’s creation by God. One term he clearly describes us as having three parts.

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1Th 5:23

Before we go to answer where and why? I need to point out a specific and unique characteristic within each part of man. All three parts have a unique and specific ability in common, the need to receive in order to be sustained, fulfilled and completed. The ultimate purpose of the tripartite man is to simply receive!

Behold the Man and his tripartite make up Part 1

Greetings Everyone!

I trust your week and weekend has been going well.  We have been somewhat busy this week. Katherine has been studying and reviewing for her medical board exams.  She took them this past Thursday.  She should know within the next couple of months.  I sense she did well!  Things around here are a little less tense now the board exams are over.  This week we will be looking at man and his three part creation by God.

The way God created man was critically unique in His purpose, intent and plan for the destiny of man.  In His creation God gave man an ability which no other creature processed.  Who and what humankind is to ultimately become rest in our unique creation.   Our New Testament view of man is rooted and grounded in the knowledge and understanding given to the Apostle Paul.  Paul uses roughly 18 terms to describe or behold man. These terms are not written in any other parts of the Bible as they are in his epistles. These terms are;

Old Man   New Man       Spiritual Man  Natural Man  Carnal Man   One Man  Dead Man   Outer Man   Inner Man   Tripartite Man   First Man    Second Man Perfect Man    Corruptible Man    Righteous Man     Good Man    Inward Man    Wretched Man.  Within the list of terms Paul clearly reveals our unique composition of man’s creation by God.  One term he clearly describes us as having three parts.

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and [I pray God] your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”. 1Th 5:23

This is the first time in the Bible that someone has specifically identified man as having three parts as his complete or whole makeup.  There other parts of the Bible which speak of these parts separately.   But only here Paul tells us that this is our “whole” composition.  Paul “Behold the man” as having three parts; spirit; soul and body.  A term called “The Tripartite Man.”  So, where did Paul get this idea of man having three parts?  Why just three parts?  Why not two or four?  Let’s start from beginning to see where and how Paul could declare this truth.  Let’s talk about it in fellowship!

Homosexuality and the Power of Desensitization Part 4

2016 Oct 16th Streaming

https://youtu.be/fvdU36_re2M

Greetings Everyone,

This week has come and gone so quickly! The temperatures are cooler and we’ve had rain. Fall is slowly appearing and making itself known. Thank each of you for your prayers and condolences for the passing of Katherine’s mom last week. Your love and concern is a wonderful joy and blessing to us and the family! Thank you again! We trust the Father to finish the message this week on “homosexuality and the power of desensitization.” We’ll look at the real issue! The real issue is Spiritual.

The homosexuality issue as we have discussed earlier is not biological or psychological or genetic. There are a plethora of thoughts, opinions, theories and beliefs concerning the causes of homosexuality, sexual orientation and gender identity. All of them deal with either body or soul. Neither of these can truly provide nor produce a complete and permanent answer to the issue. The reason lies in the part of man which is ignored and seen as irrelevant. It is in the spirit of man where the real victory and power is realized. Man’s true identity is spiritual and not biological nor psychological. These two parts of are important but they are not where our life and identity is located. Our life or death is in spirit! Remember desensitization is a spiritual attack on humankind. It seeks to control the hearts and minds (soul) of humankind with fear! The Old Man.

Homosexuality is a product of the old man. And sadly everyone is trying to fix, repair, accommodate and even change (deliver) this person. God is NOT trying to fix or repair this man! He’s Not trying or in the process of making him different or better! God is Not delivering man/woman from homosexuality or any other sin, life style and identity crisis man finds himself walking in. God has provided an answer and a cure for the old man! What is His answer and cure? Simple death! Not just any death. But the death of another person. Jesus Christ! Let’s talk about it!

Love in Christ,

David & Katherine
