Happy Father’s Day! Who can really be a Father?

Greetings Everyone!
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers! Wow our time is really flying by. We just did the Mother’s Day fellowship and now it’s Father’s Day. We will talk about fathers and what makes them who they are. But first let’s have a little history on Father’s Day. After all we did cover the history of Mother’s Day. So, let’s take a look at how we started celebrating Father’s Day.

Establishment of holiday
In 1910, a Father’s Day celebration was held in Spokane, Washington, at the YMCA by Sonora Smart Dodd, who was born in Arkansas. Its first celebration was in the Spokane YMCA on June 19, 1910. Her father, the civil war veteran William Jackson Smart, was a single parent who raised his six children there. After hearing a sermon about Jarvis’ Mother’s Day in 1909 at Central Methodist Episcopal Church, she told her pastor that fathers should have a similar holiday honoring them. Although she initially suggested June 5, her father’s birthday, the pastors did not have enough time to prepare their sermons, and the celebration was deferred to the third Sunday of June. Several local clergymen accepted the idea, and on June 19, 1910, the first Father’s Day, “sermons honoring fathers were presented throughout the city.”
However, in the 1920s, Dodd stopped promoting the celebration because she was studying in the Art Institute of Chicago, and it faded into relative obscurity, even in Spokane. In the 1930s, Dodd returned to Spokane and started promoting the celebration again, raising awareness at a national level. She had the help of those trade groups that would benefit most from the holiday, for example the manufacturers of ties, tobacco pipes, and any traditional present to fathers. By 1938 she had the help of the Father’s Day Council, founded by the New York Associated Men’s Wear Retailers to consolidate and systematize the commercial promotion. Americans resisted the holiday for its first few decades, viewing it as nothing more than an attempt by merchants to replicate the commercial success of Mother’s Day, and newspapers frequently featured cynical and sarcastic attacks and jokes. However, said merchants remained resilient and even incorporated these attacks into their advertisements. By the mid-1980s, the Father’s Council wrote that “(…) [Father’s Day] has become a Second Christmas for all the men’s gift-oriented industries.”

A bill to accord national recognition of the holiday was introduced in Congress in 1913. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson went to Spokane to speak in a Father’s Day celebration and wanted to make it official, but Congress resisted, fearing that it would become commercialized. US President Calvin Coolidge recommended in 1924 that the day be observed by the nation, but stopped short of issuing a national proclamation. Two earlier attempts to formally recognize the holiday had been defeated by Congress. In 1957, Maine Senator Margaret Chase Smith wrote a proposal accusing Congress of ignoring fathers for 40 years while honoring mothers, thus “[singling] out just one of our two parents”. In 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued the first presidential proclamation honoring fathers, designating the third Sunday in June as Father’s Day. Six years later, the day was made a permanent national holiday when President Richard Nixon signed it into law in 1972.

God who is the eternal Father has provided men with a unique ability which can only be expressed by Him. And it makes no difference who you are in the flesh. It is a power which defines humankind and gives us an understanding of the love of God who is Father to us all! Let’s talk about it!

God and Religion: Is He There

Greetings Everyone!

This was our first full week of summer. It was busy for us. We enjoyed a visit from the kids and grand kids. Our youngest grand-daughter is the cutest! We’ll miss them! Our message for this week deals with God and religion. And the question is He anywhere to be found in religion? The Father and I had a great conversation this week concerning the subject. I know how Satan through religion can and has wreaked havoc in the Body of Christ. His spirit of fear and the process of desensitization to the person makes it appear that religion is winning. It’s not and neither is he! The love of our Father is far above what we can ask or think! Our issue is not weather religion is bad or good. Weather some have it and we don’t. Weather we don’t have it and they do. The issue is, who is the person of Christ to you! Who is the person of Christ in you! Who are you as the Son of God now living as another. Let’s not be deceived. Religion will be here long after the body of Christ is gone. It is necessary for the Father’s purpose, intent and plan!

[Is](religion) then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a (religion) given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by (religion). Gal 3:21

But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom (religion) is crucified unto me, and I unto (religion). Gal 6:14 (words added)

Let’s talk about it!

Faith: What is it? (Manna) Part 2

Greeting Everyone,

Well Friday was our last day of the school year here. It’s now officially in summer vacation. The rain has been coming down pretty much daily. PTL! Before too long we’ll be looking at those long hot summer days here in Texas! We’ll be completing the message on faith this week in fellowship. Here’s just a part of the notes for Sunday fellowship.

As you might be coming to see how so many of us can used these words so interchangeably. What we think we are saying is not always what it means by word definition. Surely when we use the word faith is might not mean the same every time we use it. So, where do we get our faith from? Is it something we possess and control? Does everyone have faith or is it something that only a lucky or blessed few? It is just for the believer or does the non-believer have also? Paul tells us this about faith and humankind.

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Rom 12:3

According to Paul, God did something with faith. He dealt or bestowed, imparted, distributed and divided (split in to factions) this thing called faith to all of humankind. That means we all have faith but it is not complete faith. Our faith is incomplete in itself and we need something or someone to complete it for us. We must possess a new complete faith to operate in full assurance of our faith! Think about it from the time we were created we’ve had all the faith we needed. Yet from the beginning it was incomplete!

The faith of Adam

As we read Genesis 2:16-27; 2:19-20; 3:9-11. We see Adam have his own knowledge operating within him. This was his faith or knowledge in operation! He operated in the full measure of the knowledge he was given.

Adam’s measure of faith from these verse.

And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Gen 2:16-17

And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought [them] unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that [was] the name thereof. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him. Gen 2:19-20

And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I [was] naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou [wast] naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? Gen 3:10-11

Where was his knowledge or faith limited? In the following areas.

He didn’t know what “die” was. He didn’t know what fear was. And he didn’t know they were naked. Limited knowledge means incomplete faith! Let’s talk about it!

Faith: What is it?

Greetings Everyone,

Well, it’s almost that time. School is almost out for the summer!  Summer vacations and fun are just around the corner.  And let’s not forget about the “heat” as well! Some are predicting a hot summer while others are predicting a mild cooler one.  I stand with Paul when he said:

“Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, [therewith] to be content.  I know both how to be abased, and I     know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.”                Phl 4:11-12

I’ve learned in whatsoever state (TX,CO, MO, NM, OK…you get the idea) therewith to be content.  But not only have I learned but I am instructed both to live in the heat and to live in the cold and not whine and complain about where I’ve been sent by my Father.  This is the faith of the Son and foundation of the new creation see-thru-er!  What is the faith of the Son? What is faith? There has been so much taught and said about faith it’s unbelievable. The vast majority has been passed down from generation to generation as a tradition and belief system.  These are some of the things I’ve heard over the years concerning faith.

-Biblical faith

-Saving faith

-True faith

-Power of faith

-Increase your faith

-Strong faith

-Weak faith

-Little faith

-Great faith

These are not all the terms used or spoken with the word faith included.  Many are exact quotes from the Bible.  But many don’t carry the same meaning as the writers.  So, what is faith and what does it mean? Are most of our thoughts and ideas on faith derived from desensitization to the person of Christ?  If so, that would make our belief concerning faith delusional and void of God’s mean of faith for us!  Let’s talk about it!

Desensitization and Losing your Salvation Part 2

https://youtu.be/lxuglcqxsIs

Greetings  Everyone!
We trust you all had a blessed and wonderful week in Christ!  We will attempt to finish the message from last week on Losing you Salvation. The subject of losing our salvation is a very controversial topic.  But the answer is simple in Christ. So we trust you’ll join us in fellowship to conclude this message. Again the answer is yes and no!  I’m not trying to funny or mysterious.  The truth is yes some have a salvation which can be lost. And no for those who have a salvation which cannot be lost. Let’s examine it and find out the truth that is in Christ Jesus. The things most of us have been taught and believe concerning this topic is really and truly unbelievable.  So much fear! So much deception! So much captivity! So much delusional thinking! When losing salvation is really not the issue! Let’s talk about it…

Desensitization and Losing your Salvation

2016 May 15th Streaming

Greetings  Everyone!
We trust everyone has had a wonderful week in Christ!  And hopefully not too busy.  We were traveling this week. We went to see our grandson Jeremy’s graduation at Loyola University in Chicago.  It was a joy and blessing to be there with family and friends to support this mile stone in his life.  Chicago is very nice city to visit but we enjoyed coming home to Texas!  Let me take a minute to talk about the topic of Sunday fellowship, desensitization and losing your salvation.  The question always comes up sooner or later concerning how does one get saved or receive salvation? And, of course what can someone do to lose their salvation?  What do you think?  I know some of you say no immediately. No way! While some of you might say, yes of course!  Others might say it would depend on what a person does. If they have commit the unpardonable sin?  Surely they can lose their salvation. Right?   Almost all of our ideas, beliefs and doctrines are based on what we’ve been taught and told to believe about receiving and losing our salvation.  This idea brings with it a host of deep feelings and emotions. And almost all of these are powerful and fear based!  No two organizations, institutions or denominations agree on obtaining salvation much less agreeing on how it’s kept or lost.  What role or impact does desensitization to the person of Christ, religion, organizational theology, institutional doctrine, and denominational belief systems have on this idea of losing your salvation? The answer is simple. Everything!  Why? Because there is something very critical being left out of the discussions.  But we’ll talk about it in fellowship tomorrow.  Let me close by giving you something to think about until then.  Can one lose their salvation? The answer is Yes. Because some have a salvation that can be lost. The answer is No. Because others have a salvation that cannot be lost. Let’s talk about it!

Desensitization to the person of Christ and Time

2016 May 1st Streaming

https://youtu.be/h9lMpIw7vr0

Greetings Everyone!
April is out and May is in. Already! WOW, time flies when you’re having fun! It seems like it was just Monday and now it’s Sunday. Does it appear to you that things are happening faster than you can keep up? We are so busy that days come and go so quickly it’s hard to keep track of which day of the week it is. Someone created a phrase to help us to “deal” with this issue of “so much to do and very little time to do it”. It’s called “multi-tasking”. Yeah, you train yourself to several different tasks at the same time. You know what I mean. Like the person who just passed you on the road, driving, texting on a cell phone, listening to music, looking at the GPS, speeding and smoking a cigarette all at the same time! We are not created and cannot multi-task. I know some of you might say “yes we can, I do it all the time”. Human ability is pretty spectacular in various situations. But trying to beat or cheat time is not one of them! It may seem that time is not on our side. Time is neither for us or against us. Because of desensitization to the person of Christ many have missed God’s purpose, intent and plan for creating time. We have tried to make time something it’s not and never created to be or do. We say things like, time heals, time makes everything better, time will tell, they’ve got time on their side, their time is running out, that saves us a lot of time and now it’s my time. These are just a few of things said about time which comes from desensitization! And where is Christ in all of this? Let’s talk about it in fellowship…

God’s Radical Events and their irreversible outcomes Part-4

2016 Apr 24th Streaming

https://youtu.be/KqaO2gOgnUE

Greetings Everyone,

We trust our Father that you all had a wonderful week! I’m sure many of you had busy a week wherever you’re located. I also trust you had an opportunity to review the message on “The Great Escape” that was sent out this week. I listen to it again and heard and saw things I didn’t previously. Very good Word! I looking to finish our topic on God’s radical events and their irreversible outcomes tomorrow. There’s a lot more to this subject than meets the eye. Maybe the Father will bring us back to this issue later. We don’t hear or know much concerning the gospel and message of before the foundation of the world. These events were spoken by Himself and to Himself for us! Yet they were not revealed until since creation. Much of which He reveal to the apostle Paul. If can receive just a few of these radical events as ours most of our fears and illusions would be swallowed up in us by Him!

I was talking to the Father about the idea called “Desensitization and fear the new faith” I thought that was very interesting. He and I also discussed a word that many have misunderstood for a long time. The word is “Time.” This word is not what we think and said it is. How many times have you heard things like this; “only time can heal” or “only time will tell” or “over time things will work themselves out” or “forgiveness will come over time” or ” you’re running out of time” or “time is money” or “make up for lost time” and “just need to be faithful and in time you’ll reach your goal”. I could go on but I think you get the idea. There’s an illusion here that many have bought into concerning “time”. And ALL illusions come from fear! And you should know what that means…wait for it…yes desensitization! Well just in discussion. But I like what I’m starting to see. I trust you’ll join us tomorrow for Sunday Fellowship!

David & Katherine

God’s Radical Events and their irreversible outcomes Part-3

Greetings Everyone!
This was get your taxes done week and weekend!  We were done last week and e-filed for the first time. Wow! That was sweet!  Thank you for your prayers for the post surgery.  I did OS Resets this week and they really felt great to my body (thanks  brother Tim).  We had several comments on the message and the email from last week.  I read the email several more times and was amazed at what the Father was saying!  My sister Beverly S. said “POWERFUL insight”. I emailed her back and asked the message or email?  She said it was “the email”.  I could not have agreed more.  Not that the broadcast message wasn’t good.  It too carried the very God ideas that prepared and made us ready to become new creations to Him – the radical events and irreversible outcome of Sons birthed from above!  While Katherine and I were discussing the Word from the email, she made a very insightful and interesting comment. We were talking about the following:
“I’ve found in these past two years of sharing this message very few really want the person of Christ as their ALL.  You see, in delusional thinking or psychotic thinking we cannot perceive or believe or receive anything outside of fear’s illusion as real.  Why? Because in desensitization to the person of Christ, NO ONE wants to become another person! NO ONE wants to say “I no longer live as the person I was born as in this body!” NO ONE wants to say “I am now occupying a body that give me identity but now I am another person with a new identity from a new Father.”
She said “I don’t think it’s the fear of becoming another person.  They don’t know how to be anyone else.” I was looking at the effect of fear and it’s grip of desensitization to the person of Christ. And she was seeing the grip of sensitization to the person in the flesh.  A very similar thought of Nicodemus.  “Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?” How about something like this “Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be another person when he is still alive? can he disappear and reappear a second time into someone else’s identity, and be new or another person?  Wow! Very good revelation!  Let’s talk about it!
